Obituary: Mary Ann McArdle

 

Mrs. Mary Ann McArdle of Hartford passed away Tuesday, November 09, 2021 at her home. She was 85. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb Chapel with Reverend Lance Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee’s Chapel cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. Flowers will be accepted. 

Mrs. Mary Ann was born April 26, 1936 in Geneva County to the late Codie Lee and Carrie Mae Jackson McGowan. She was an avid book reader, loved nature, and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends and will be dearly missed. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Thurman McArdle; a daughter, Angel Ann McArdle; a son, Barry Lee McArdle; a granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Hughes, and a brother, Jimmy Lee McGowan all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include; daughters, Sherry Ann Jordan and Carrie Ann McArdle; 3 adopted children; Gary Lee McArdle, Shirley Ann Creamer, and Darren Lee McArdle; twelve  grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild and another expected soon. 

Family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for the love and care shown to Mrs. Mary Ann during this time.
