ECHO COMMUNITY. . .Mary Bass Eldridge, a resident of Dale County, near Echo, died Thursday afternoon, September 28, 2017, at her home. She was 74.


            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 1, 2017, in the Mt. Enon Baptist Church, near Midland City, with Reverend Tim Sewell and Reverend Colt Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Sunday in the church sanctuary.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Enon Baptist Church, c/o Charles Stevens, 3478 South County Road 67, Midland City, AL 36350.


            Mrs. Eldridge was born and reared in Rockford, Alabama, daughter of the late James Wilmer Bass and Jewel Jenkins Bass. She lived in Dothan before moving to Dale County in 1985. Mrs. Eldridge was an active member of the Mt. Enon Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as the Director of Personnel at Hayes International in Napier Field for thirty-five years. Mrs. Eldridge was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, William Kenneth Eldridge; a daughter, Stacey Perfetto (Carl), Elon, N.C.; a son, Brian Maradik (Melissa), LaGrange, GA; two step-daughters, Stephanie Eldridge and Donna Eldridge, both of Dothan; four grandchildren, Syler, Brayden, Emma and Hillory.
