Mary Eddis Cannon, 75, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 19, 2022 surrounded by her family, leaving behind her battle with cancer.

She was born on May 19, 1946, in Houston County, to the late Raymond Paul Clark and the late Dorothy Iazeolla.

Funeral Service will be  at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Rusty Milton officiating, burial to follow  at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until service time at the funeral home.

After graduating from high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Benton Palmer Cannon and they had three children, Stephen, Susan, and Julie.

She had a passion for Jesus and was very active in her church, First Presbyterian.  She shared the love and the good news of Jesus with anyone who would listen, and her greatest desire was for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with their spouses, to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  Family and friends were everything to her and it gave her much joy to spend time with them.

She thoroughly enjoyed her career working in various doctors’ offices and made life-long friends as she progressed from her early role of receptionist to her final role as assistant office manager for Internal Medicine Associates, where she retired after 32 years of service.

In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and was quite the seamstress, making unique and beautiful Easter, prom, and bridesmaids dresses for her girls.  She also enjoyed the outdoors and spent lots of time gardening, keeping her yard and flowers pristine, and sitting on the porch bird watching.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bruce Clark and Derrick Clark.

Survivors include her son, Stephen (Vickie) Cannon, daughters, Susan (Thomas) Flowers and Julie Elmore, sister, Dianne Clark, stepmother, Carolyn Clark, grandchildren, Jonathan Cannon, Lillian Cannon, Isaac Cannon, Daniel Flowers, Shannon Flowers, Heather (Bryan) Miller, Kerry (Megan) Elmore, Colton Elmore, Zackary Elmore, six great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Meals Ministry 3012 W Main St, Dothan, AL 36305.

She has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, she has kept the faith.  May the Lord bless her and keep her.
