A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 1:00pm at Haven of Grace Fellowship in Daleville, AL with Anthony Ryan Bonci officiating.
Mary Elizabeth Langford, known affectionately as Elizabeth to her friends and family, departed this world on January 21, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on March 13, 1938, in Athens, Georgia, Elizabeth's life was a tapestry of love, commitment, and faith that touched the hearts of all who knew her. She passed away peacefully in Daleville, Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.
Elizabeth was the beloved matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her devoted son, Carl Benjamin Langford, and her cherished daughter, Janet Ann Langford. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Carlton Bobby Langford III “Trey”, Christina Kaye Lockette, Anthony Ryan Bonci, Zachary Benjamin Bonci, Cole Maston Langford, and Ragan Richardson, as well as her great-grandchildren, Oliver Bonci, Olivia Bonci, Cheyenne Lockette, Brantley Lockette, Aspen Lockette, Charlee Bonci, and Noah Langford. Elizabeth's life was further enriched by her sisters, Jane Crane and Wynette Stevens, and a host of caring nieces and nephews. Her spirit is reunited with her beloved husband, Carlton Bobby Langford, Sr., her parents, Benjamin and Flora Cochran, her son, Carlton Bobby Langford, Jr., her granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Langford, her brother, Ben Cochran, and her sisters, Lois Carter, Pearl Cochran, and Nan Braswell, who preceded her in death.
Elizabeth and her late husband own and operated Langfords, a business that served the community for over 50 years. Her professional life was a reflection of her personal values, as she treated each customer like family. Elizabeth's commitment to her community extended beyond her business as she was an active and dedicated member of Haven of Grace Fellowship in Daleville. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived it out with grace and joy, inspiring those around her.
Elizabeth's gentle spirit and loving nature led many to say she was an angel among us, a sentiment echoed by all who were blessed to know her.
Words that best describe Elizabeth are loving, gentle, and faith-filled. She approached life with a heart full of love, extending kindness and compassion to everyone she met. Her gentle demeanor was a source of comfort and strength to her family and friends, and her unwavering faith guided her through life's challenges and triumphs. Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will continue to be a guiding light for all who loved her.
