Mary Elizabeth Wiertz, 65, of Abbeville passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wiertz was born January 10, 1946 in Newark, NJ and lived the early part of her life there. She later resided in Bloomingdale, NJ. She also resided in West Milford, NJ for over 30 years and Bridgeport, WV prior to moving to Abbeville about 4 years ago. Mrs. Wiertz was of the Catholic Faith and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her brother Lee Reichert.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years Lester Wiertz of Abbeville; brothers, John (Liz) Reichert of Mims, FL, Fred (Candy) Reichert of Monroe, NY, James (Mary) Reichert of Cocoa, FL, and Ron Reichert of Jefferson, NJ; sisters, Arlene Willis of Toms Rivers, NJ, June (Fred) Haywood of Titusville, FL, Janet Reichert of Miami, FL, Charlotte (Michael) McGillicuddy of Williston, FL.
