Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.

Mary Ellen Fuqua, a resident of Newton, Alabama passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 at her residence. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
Mary was born on September 15, 1942 to Alex and Lovie Dean Dunn. She was a native of Newton (Wicksburg). Mary worked as a pulp wooder for many years. She loved to sing, dance, cook and spend time with her family and friends at the VFW and Elks Lodge.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Fuqua; her nephew, Kevin Dunn; and her niece, Kimberly (Cricket) Dunn.
Survivors include her son, Billy Wayne (Janice) Glover; two grandsons, Billy Wayne (Kassidy) Glover, Jr. and Tommy (Lauren) Glover; one granddaughter, Kayla (Brent) Glover; four great-grandchildren, Knox, Kross, Macilee and Nolan; three brothers, Bill Dunn, Leroy (Cathy) Dunn and Jesse (Connie) Dunn; four sisters, Lucille (Meylan) Searcy, Louise Senn, Margaret (Bobby) Hadden and Rena (Dan) Dehil; and several nieces and nephews.
