DOTHAN. . .Mary Emma Solomon Carr, a resident of Dothan, died early Friday afternoon, June 17, 2022, in the Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 104.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 20, 2022, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend George Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Headland Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:00 P.M. Monday in the mortuary chapel. Following the services, the family wll be at the home of a grandson, Jeff Trippe, 948 J. W. Rich Road, Kinsey, AL.
Mrs. Carr was born and reared in Headland, daughter of the late Ralph Sporman Solomon and Sarah Ethel Mitchell Solomon. She was a graduate of Headland High School and attended the University of Montevallo and Auburn University. Mrs. Carr lived all her adult lifetime in Dothan. She was a member of the Headland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F Carr, Sr., a son, Paul F. Carr, Jr., two daughters, Jeannie Carr and Carol Smothers, four sisters, Sarah Carr, Martha Holley, Ruth Smith and Kathryn Capps Roberts, and a brother, Jim Daly Solomon.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mary Carr Liddell and Rebecca Carr Simmons (James), all of Dothan; a son, Steve Carr, Palm Coast, Florida; and a son-in-law, Bob Smothers, Elizabeth City, NC; seven grandchildren, Beth Liddell, Will Liddell, Steven Carr, Jr. (Jennifer), Joanna Carr, Lynn Brown (Greg), Jeff Trippe (Donna), and Manua Lehman (Gary), several great and great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
