A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-7 pm.

Mary Esther Traylor, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at her residence. She was 96 years old.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-7 pm.
Mary was born on May 25, 1925 in Geneva County, Alabama and lived there the early years of her life. She worked as a phone operator for GTE for 25 years before retiring. Mary enjoyed fishing, spending time at Lake Seminole, bird watching, and loved flowers.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Preston B. and Sarah Alford Gilmore, her husband, Thomas “Buster” Traylor, her son, Charles Thomas Traylor, and her siblings, James Gilmore, Edna Gilmore Marsh, Dorothy Huffman, and Waree Kitzman.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Melinda Traylor; her three grandchildren, Sylvia Ann Tice Dupriest, Michelle Lynn Kirkland, and Krystal Lee Kirkland; five great grandchildren, James Dillon Tice, Preston Tyler Dupriest, Brittany Michelle Harrison (Carlton Burkett), John Austin Welch, and Trenton Brice McKinnie; and one great great grandchild, Phoebe Clarie Burkett.
