Mary Ethel Thomas of Samson, AL passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024. She was 78 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL. Burial will follow in the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Ethel was born on May 31, 1945, in Samson, AL to the late Huie S. Glover and Connie Harrison DeLoach. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, sitting on her front porch, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy David Thomas; two sisters, Sybil Johnson, and Carolyn Anderson; one great grandson, John Parker “JP” Howerton.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary McCrummen, Dana Robinson, and Linda Thomas all of Samson, AL; seven grandchildren; Kayla Thomas, Barney McCrummen (Courtney), Dalton McCrummen, Sondra Robinson, Courtney Jordan, David Bowers and Joshua White; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Lula McCall of Samson, AL; two brothers, Jerry Paul DeLoach of Samson, AL, and James Ludman (Gail) of Kinston, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
