Mary Fleta "Sissy" Johnson, age 86, a resident of Eclectic, formerly of the Grangerburg area, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014.
Born January 30, 1928 in Grangerburg to the late Kyle and Ruth Askew Granger, Mrs. Johnson loved her Lord, her family, and the numerous animals she rescued.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Johnson; a brother and sister-in-law, Phil Granger and his wife Mary Granger.
Survivors include her daughter Nona (Rodney) Davis; her brothers, Charles (Evelyn) Granger and Johnny (Mary) Granger; her sister, Anne Pittman, her brother-in-law, Andrew J. Johnson; her nieces, Joy (Terry) Smith, Sylvia (Ray) Worley and Jill Pittman, Sharon Granger Lee; nephews, Joe (Teresa) Granger, Stan (Cricket) Granger, Stan Plant, Randy Plant (Susan), and a special neighbor and friend, Joe Teague. Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 2 PM at New Harmony Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery on Cottonwood Highway with Randy Davis officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at New Harmony Freewill Baptist Church from 1:30 until 2 PM.
