HEADLAND. . .Mary Frances Baxter McArdle, a resident of Headland, died late Thursday night, September 25, 2014, in a Dothan hospital. She was 88.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 27, 2014, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. and Reverend Tom Chestnut officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Mary Frances McArdle was a lifelong resident of Headland, daughter of the late Thomas Francis Baxter and Essie Lee Hoffman Baxter. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church and participated in the Burdeshaw-Solomon Senior Center. Ms. McArdle was retired as a Supervisor from the Wex-Tex Manufacturing Company in Headland. After her retirement, she was employed in the Child Development Center at First Baptist Church.
Ms. McArdle was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Wade McArdle and Ronald Elton (Ronnie) McArdle, a granddaughter, Carol McArdle, and three sisters, Sybil Oree Baxter, Tommie Jean Baxter and Kate Baxter Brackin.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Joe McArdle, Esto, FL; and Kevin McArdle, Headland; a daughter-in-law, Shirley King McArdle, Ashford; grandchildren, Joey McArdle, Andy McArdle, Clay McArdle (Michelle), Cole McArdle (Tambria), Caleb McArdle, Travis McArdle, and Madison McArdle; four great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
Serving as active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
