Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at Cowarts Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Cowarts Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Mary Frances Still Blackshear, a resident of Cowarts, AL passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. She was 93.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at Cowarts Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Cowarts Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.


Mary was born on August 29, 1929 in Houston County, Alabama to Ervin Clifton Still and Mollie Victoria Johnson Still. She lived in Cowarts all her life. Mary was a faithful member of Cowarts Baptist Church. She retired from Fort Rucker Civil Service. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt and will be missed by all who loved her.


In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Clayton (Pete) Blackshear; her son-in-law, Gene Crosby and two sisters and three brothers.


Survivors include her children, Debra Crosby, Cliff (Barbara) Blackshear and Amy Blackshear; her grandchildren, Tennille Crosby, Clay (Tabitha) Blackshear and Amber Blackshear; her great-grandchildren, Keirstan Blackshear, Zander Blackshear, Zoey Blackshear, David Dasinger, CJ Blackshear, Logan Blackshear, Finley Crosby and Bella Blackshear; and multiple nieces and nephews.


Serving as pallbearers will be Clayton Blackshear, Ned Roberts, Terry Bell, Haisten Murphree, Andrew Jones and Jim Hines. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Still, Steve Still, Zander Blackshear, David Dasinger, CJ Blackshear and Logan Blackshear.
