Mary G. Shaw, 68, of Taylor passed away Friday December 13, 2014 unexpectedly.

Memorial Services will be at 6 pm Friday, December 19, 2014 at Central Baptist Church on Honeysuckle Road in Dothan. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the memorial at 5 pm.

She was born on October 7, 1946 to the late James J. and Mable K. Griffin in Charleston, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents James J. Griffin and Mable K. Griffin, and her daughter Nichole Gore. Ms. Shaw was a substitute teacher for Dothan City Schools for many years and a homemaker thereafter. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Dothan, AL and loved her family and her church family very much.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Karen Freishlag of Charleston, SC; four children, Phillip A. Gore, of Webb AL, Peter J. Gore, of Dothan AL, Timothy D. Gore, of Indianapolis IN, and Rachel E. Moore, of Fort Hood TX; six grandchildren, Skyler T. May, Lance R. Hannah, Shaeleigh O. Gore, Kadence M. Gore, Kitana R. Gore and Samuel A. Gore; three daughters-in-law, Chelsa K. Gore, LaRayna B. Gore, and Ivory N. Gore; a host of many other close family, church members and friends from areas all over; last but not least her best friend and loyal companion, Missy, the dachshund.
