Mrs. Mary Helen Nichols Whigham Lannan, went to our Heavenly Father on November 2, 2018. She was 90.
She was currently a resident of Glencove Health and Rehabilitation Center, Panama City, Florida, but due to Hurricane Michael, she was evacuated to Brynwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until service time Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
Mary Helen was born on September 13, 1928, to the late T.O. (Offie) and Crecie Nichols. She was born and lived in Coffee County, Mt. Pleasant Community and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. After completing Business College, she was employed with Enterprise Banking Company for over 30 years serving in all capacities in the bank. She loved her job because she loved people and the interaction that she had with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 30 years, Edward R. Lannan, two sons, Len Myron Whigham and Ben Michael Whigham.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Sue Parrish (John L) Panama City Beach, FL, her grandsons, Kevin Parrish, Ozark, AL, Jason N. Parrish (Keri) Mobile, AL, two great-grandsons, Joshua Parrish, Springville, AL, David Parrish, Ozark, AL and one great-granddaughter, Avery Len Parrish, Mobile, Al.
The family wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the staff at Glencove Health and Rehabilitation, Panama City, for all their loving care during her stay. We also wish to express our appreciation to Covenant Hospice for all of their help while she was under their care.
