MARY JANE HUNTER


HEADLAND, AL… Mary Jane Hunter, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Friday afternoon, June 23, 2023, at a Dothan hospital. She was 74.


Celebration of Life services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday June 28, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Dewayne Efurd officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.


Mrs. Hunter was born in Donalsonville, Georgia, daughter to the late Thomas Allen Davis and Carmen Kennington Davis. She grew up in Chattahoochee and graduated high school there.  She had a successful career in banking in Florida and Georgia. She and her husband moved to Headland in 2005. She was a member of Headland United Methodist Church and attended Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Hope Williams, a brother Johnny Davis and infant child, Kevin Lee Hicks


Surviving relatives include her husband of thirty years, Jim Hunter; daughters, Bonnie Murray (Tim), Beverly Warrington (Del), Sarah “Bess” Miller (Steve); two sons, James “Jamie” Hunter, and Darren Hicks (Stefanie); thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several other loving friends and family members.
