We regret to announce the passing of Mary Jeanette Johnson, age 77, of Jakin, GA who passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Willie Byron Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
She was born October 8, 1934 in Decatur County to the late Alvin Thomas and Jessie Bell Watts Thomas. She lived in this area all of her life, was self employed before she retired in the late 80’s. In the 90’s she started sitting and helping care for others that needed a caregiver. In her spare time, she loved working in her yard at the river, her life was of love and labor and love for her family.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Turner (Angela) of Jakin, GA; Greg Turner (Gina) of Headland, AL; Shane Saunders (Becky) of Donalsonville, GA; daughters, Glenda Turner of Jakin, GA; Jackie S. Sheffield of Donalsonville, GA; brother, Eugene Thomas (Shirley) of Peachtree City, GA; sister, Patsy Bruner (Ronald) of Cedar Springs, GA. As well as eight grandchildren, Shea Grant, Cullen Turner (Dehlia) Justin Turner (Katie) Katie Woodham (Ronnie) Reid Turner, Nicole Sheffield, Kaylee Blanchard, Karsyn Blanchard and three great grandchildren Rayley Turner, Tripp Turner and Jack Woodham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Thomas and Jessie Bell Watts Thomas; husbands, Cullen Turner, Jack Saunders and Melvin D, Johnson; sister, Emma Lola Thomas; brothers, Alton Thomas and Luther Thomas
Casketbearers will be Cullen Turner, Justin Turner, Reid Turner, David Bruner, Kevin Bruner, Darryl Bruner and Robert Edison.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
