Mary Jo Mims Craft of Westville, FL passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. She was 64 years old.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Bro. Chuck Grantham officiating. A private family burial will follow in Poplar Head Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
The family kindly requests those who are planning to attend the services for Mary Jo to please wear a facial covering and practice social distancing due to the ongoing pandemic.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made in Mary Jo’s memory to Poplar Head Community Church, c/o Margie Harrison, 904 North Wilson Street, Geneva, AL 36340.
Mary Jo was born in Geneva, AL on June 9, 1956 to the late Earl and Mary Louise Thomas Mims. Mary Jo loved singing praises to the Lord. She served as the choir director at Poplar Head Community Church for over 15 years. She was a member of Holmes County Historical Society and was a founding member of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historical Foundation in Holmes County, FL. She also helped organize the annual Piney Woods Picnic of North Florida. Mary Jo loved her family dearly, but above all else, she loved her Lord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Austin Harker.
She is survived by one son, Eric Craft (Shirl) of Hartford; two grandchildren, Stewart Bottoms (Stephanie) of Black, AL, and Shelby Lett (Desmond) of Hartford, AL; three great-grandchildren, Shelton Bottoms, Eli Lett and Ian Lett; five siblings, Billy Wayne Mims (Caroline) of Westville, FL, Carolyn Holloway (Danny) of Geneva, AL, John Winston Mims (Teresa) of Westville, FL, Kathy Harker (Robert) of Westville, FL, Barbara Marsh (Joey) of Bonifay, FL; nephews and nieces, Jonathon Mims, Amy Harris, Andrea Brown, Shannon Harris, Ashley Harker, and Ryan Mims; aunts, Martha Sue Locklear, Margaret Hamilton (Russ), Margie Harrison, Geraldine Gillman, Elizabeth McDuffie, Christine Prescott, Mary Magaline Grantham, and Darlene Hudson.
