Mary Louise Wingate, 95, a resident of Midland City passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at her son’s residence.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Bures officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory with Sunset Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home at the funeral home.


Mrs. Wingate was born November 28, 1919 in Pinewood, South Carolina and spent the early part of her life there. She moved to the Dothan area over 50 years ago. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Grimes United Methodist Church. She loved to read Harlequin Romance books. She is preceded in death by her husband Jessie Wingate and a daughter Diane Ammons.


Survivors include her sons, Jessie (Kay) Wingate and Leslie (Sharon) Wingate; her daughter Linda (Doug) Bigbee; a son-in-law Jack Ammons; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.


Serving as pallbearers will be Ashley Wingate, Mark Wingate, Chris Wingate, Douglas Bigbee, Josh Childree and Trent Wingate.
