Mary M. Darville passed away, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 92.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Crossroads Baptist Church with Pastor Doug MacCormack officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 1:45 on Tuesday prior to service time.
Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Wesley Place on Honeysuckle or Extendicare Health Care.
Mrs. Darville was born June 9, 1927 in New London, Connecticut to Max Lee and Ruby Edith McIntyre Smith and lived the early years of her life in the New England Area. She later lived in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Mrs. Darville loved to read and was a Miami Dolphins fan. Having a husband that was a POW and a son that was a Marine, she was a huge supporter of veterans. She loved her God and her family. Mrs. Darville was a member of the Red Hat Society, Northside Church of LaGrange, Georgia and Crossroads Baptist Church in Dothan.
Mrs. Darville is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leroy L. Darville, Sr.; four children, Leroy L. Darville, Jr., Maxine Darville Rigsby, Mary Lou Darville Deese and Patricia Ann Darville Defore; three sisters, Maxine Smith Evans, Shirley Haapenen and Martha Smith Welch; two brothers, Richard Smith and Max Lee Smith.
Survivors include a sister, Edith Smith Ruta; a sister-in-law, Cathy Smith; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be: Michael Murphy, Michael Rigsby, Steven Page, Donnie Page, Joshua Deese and Aron Childress.
