Mrs. Mary Louise Coker (Me Maw), age 87, a resident of Dothan died Sunday December 23, 2012 at Westside Terrace following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Memory Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Don Tew officiating and Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends in the parlor at Glover Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to services. The family request in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Mary Beth Miller Heart Fund at Friend Bank, 3105 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL. 36303.
Mrs. Coker was born on November 2, 1925 in Pascagoula, MS the daughter of Wilburn Carl Dunning and Mary Shirah Dunning. She was retired from GTE as a phone operator following 37 years of service. Mrs. Coker was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and graduated from Ardilla School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Dewey Coker, Sr.; two brothers, Carl and Bill Dunning.
Survivors include: daughter and son in law, Deborah and David Snell, Dothan; son, Bill Coker, Dothan; three grandchildren, Matthew Snell (Natalie), Dothan; Stacee Miller (Mark), Fultondale; Shelley Carruba (Josh), Birmingham; five great grandchildren, Mary Beth Miller, Macon Miller, Matthew David Snell, Hudson Snell, and Gracie Carruba; brother, Johnny Dunning (Gwen), Dothan; brother in law and sister in law, Ralph and Loretta Adams, Dothan; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Mark Dunning, Mike Dunning, Greg Dunning, Matthew Snell, Rusty Harris, and Mark Miller.
The family would like to give a Special Thank You to the staff at Westside Terrace for their love and care for Mrs. Coker.
