Mary Merle (McNeill) Wright, 86, a long-time resident of Webb, passed away, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her residence with family by her side.
Graveside services will be held at 11:15 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery in Ashford with Phillip Dean officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m., prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted.
Mary was born November 16, 1937, in Houston County to the late L.B. & Edith Lois “Boots” (Crawford) McNeill. She attended and graduated from Ashford High School. Mary worked as a homemaker most of her life and she especially enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and gardening. She helped maintain their family farm and loved spending time with her family. Mary was a member of Memphis Baptist Church and served as a long-time nursery worker.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bennie McNeill, and Emmett McNeill.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles Lynwood Wright of Webb; her daughter, Cindy Knight (Tony) of Pansey; six brothers, David McNeill (Alona) of Havana, FL, James Arthur McNeill of Dothan, Joel McNeill (Diane) of Webb, Charles McNeill of Webb, Michael “Frog” McNeill of Pansey, and Richard McNeill (Teresa) of Dothan; two grandchildren, Cristi Dean (Phillip), and Jamie Knight (Heather); three great-grandchildren, Dylan Dean, Hanna Story (Garrett), and Hunter Knight; three great-great-grandchildren, Adalynn Dean, Olivia Story, and Brantley Dean; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Gentivia Hospice and special caregiver, Lexi Woods, for the love and care shown to their loved one during this difficult time.
