Mary Nell Sewell Smith of Samson, AL passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the age of 87.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Smith was born in Holmes Co., Florida on September 14, 1937 to the late Daniel Franklin and Ora Mae Hawthorne Sewell. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Mary Nell was of the Assembly of God faith.

In addition to his parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Lynn “Boots” Smith; one daughter, Linda Gene Vaughan; five siblings, Eugene Sewell, Edward Sewell, Wilfred Sewell, Vernell Lozette and Ruth Smith.

Mrs. Smith is survived by one daughter, Geraldine Jordan (Frankie) and one son, Frankie Smith, all of Samson, AL; six grandchildren, Thomas Jordan (Natalie) and Jeffery Lynn Jordan, all of Samson, AL, Andy Vaughan of Dothan, AL, Donnie Vaughan (Alice) of Samson, AL, Anthony Smith ( Alysia) of Westville, FL and Samantha Smith of Geneva, AL; eleven great grandchildren; five siblings, Mary Miller of Hartford, AL, Lucille Hatcher of Geneva, AL, Donald Ray Sewell of Geneva, AL, Malcolm Sewell (Grace) of Chancellor, AL and Robert Sewell (Robin) of Chancellor, AL (Asbury Community) and a number of special nieces and nephews also survive.
