Mary Ruth Chalker Brunson, age 71 of Clayhatchee, AL passed away at her home with her family at her side on Tuesday, November 10, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Hixson and Rev. Tommy Green officiating. Burial will follow in Providence church cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the Enterprise Chapel of Searcy Funeral Home on Friday, from 5:00 P.M., to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 10 Providence Lane, Daleville, AL 36322.
Mary worked at Alabama Power Company from 1969 until her retirement in 1997. She and her husband were members of Providence Baptist Church since 1965.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Louise A. Chalker and a sister, Dorothy M. Glover.
Survivors include her husband, Ted Brunson, Clayhatchee; sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Anne Brunson, Lowell, AR; Jason and Julie Brunson, Clayhatchee; two sisters, Carrie Chalker, Ft. Collins, CO; Willie Chalker Jordan (Jody) Houston, TX; three brothers, C. David Chalker (Patsy) Enterprise, AL; Ralph Averett Chalker (Liz) Dothan, AL; William Coley (Bill) Chalker, Jr. (Liz) Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Andrew, Trevor and Kade Brunson, Thomas and Christian Ilsley.
