OZARK…. Marygrace D’Andrea Hood, a resident of Ozark, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at her home. She was 66.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 10, 2019 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Father Fred Boni officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ozark-Dale County Humane Society, PO Box 2502, Ozark, AL 36360 or to a scholarship fund established in her son Nick’s memory, checks payable to the Auburn University Foundation, COSAM Development, 315 Roosevelt Concourse, Auburn, AL 36849. Please write Nick Hood Memorial Scholarship on the memo line.
Mrs. Hood was born in Connecticut and was a native of Ozark. She was a 1970 Graduate of Carroll High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Auburn University. Mrs. Hood was retired from the Ozark City Schools at Carroll High School where she taught home economics. She was active in the Dale County Auburn Alumni Association and the Claybank Master Gardeners. Mrs. Hood loved animals and enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ozark. Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas Lawrence Hood; parents, Nicholas D’Andrea and Phyllis D’Andrea; her brother, Nicholas D’Andrea; mother-in-law, Evelyn Holmes and husband, Guy and father-in-law, Leon Hood.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Caitlin Hood, Dothan; mother-in-law, Rachel Hood, Ozark; sister-in-law, Stephanie German (Jerry), nephew, Brandon German, niece, Brianna Parker and a host of family and friends.
