Matthew Adam Woods, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness. He was 39.

Memorial services will be held at 5 pm on Friday, June 2, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4-5 pm.

Matthew was born on March 29, 1978 in Houma, Louisiana and lived the early years of his life in Dothan. He attended Northview High School and was employed with Jim Whaley Tires, Pemco, and A-One Tires until his recent illness. Matthew was a New York Giant’s fan and loved the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.

Survivors include his son, Connor Woods; his parents, Katie Woods, Dothan and Robert Woods, Texas; his brother, Chris (Tonya) Woods; his step-brothers, William Woods and Patrick Woods; his uncle, Mike Filo; his cousins, Tricia and Jessica Filo; several nieces and nephews.
