MATTIE PEARL WATSON
MIDLAND CITY. . .Mattie Pearl Keel Watson, a resident of the Sylvan Grove community, near Midland City, died Saturday night, August 11, 2012, in the Wesley Manor Retirement Center. She was 87.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, August 13, 2012, in the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jerry M. Dooling officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P. M. Monday in the fellowship hall of the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sylvan Grove Methodist Cemetery Fund, c/o Dinah Woodham, 992 County Road 531, Midland City, AL. 36350.
Mrs. Watson was born and reared on Harrison Road in Houston County, daughter of the late Hardy Keel and Lonie Williams Keel. She lived in Napier Field most of her adult lifetime before moving to the Sylvan Grove community in 1989. Mrs. Watson was a member of the Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed by Hayes Aircraft, Globe Motors and Sunnyland Packing Co. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Keel and Coy Keel and a step-daughter in law, Carla Watson.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Allen Lamar Watson, Midland City; a daughter, Deborah; a son, Wyndle Enfinger and wife, Mary Lynn, Midland City; a step-son, Allen Watson, Haleburg; a step-daughter, Carolyn Morris, Dothan; three grandchildren, Jody Carl Enfinger and wife, Angelia, Rebecca Lynn Stafford and husband, Craig, Cheryl Cofield and husband, Jay, several step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, Jody Lee Enfinger, Dakota W. Stafford, Joshua Cofield, Jacob Cofield and Joley Cofield; several step-great-grandchildren.
