Maude Killingsworth, 102 years old, a resident of Bay Springs Community, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Westside Terrace.
A Celebration of Life service will be 12 Noon on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Bay Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Coley Holloway, Rev. Teddy Ward and Rev. John D. Reese officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 11-12pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Bay Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 1721 S. Bay Springs Road, Dothan, AL, 36305.
Mrs. Killingsworth was born October 26, 1913 at Snell's Cross Roads in Houston County, AL and lived in the Bay Springs Community all of her life. She was a 1929 graduate of Midland City High School where she was the valedictorian of her class. She also graduated from the Campbell's Business College. She was employed with Sears as manager of the phone catalog department and retired as the "Voice of Sears" in 1979.
Mrs. Killingsworth was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Etta Snell; husband, Vester Killingsworth; sister, Merle Hollis; brothers, Alonza Snell and Earl Snell; children, Max Killingsworth, Betty Paulk, and Doug Killingsworth; grandchildren, Doug Killingsworth, Jr. and Pam Brackin; son-in-law, Doug McWhirter; grandson-in-law, Monty Gibson.
Survivors include her children, Jimmy Robert (Shirley) Killingsworth and Mary McWhirter (Butch) Drew; son-in-law, Delmar Paulk; daughter-in-law, Aloma Killingsworth; grandchildren, Barbara Cruit, Kathy (Bill) Worton, Becky Gibson, Charles Paulk, and Larry Kirkland; great-grandchildren, Cody Worton, J.J. Worton, C.J. Worton, Mitchell (Rebecca) Cruit, Matthew Cruit, Bud Gibson, Charlie Paulk, and Davis Paulk; brother-in-law, Jack Hollis; sister-in-law, Jimmie Lou Snell; several cherished nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Paulk, Larry Kirkland, Charlie Paulk, Davis Paulk, Bud Gibson, Cody Worton, Matthew Cruit, and C.J. Worton.
Special people in her life, was Jami Brackin, Brooke (Matt) Tate, Ann Bond, Ginny Peters, Sherry Baker, Shirley Hix, Laura Galloway, and her family friend and physician, Paola Bass and family.
