WOODSTOCK, GEORGIA. . .Max Daniel Johnson, a resident of Woodstock, Georgia, formerly of Abbeville, died early Thursday morning December 31, 2020 at his home. He was 80.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, January 3, 2020, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Francisco Urrea officiating. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 S. Danny Thomas Blvd., Memphis, TN 38105 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 41 Perimeter Center E. #550, Atlanta, GA 30346
Mr. Johnson was born and reared in Henry County, son of the late Marvin Holman Johnson and Mary Lou Kirkland Johnson. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Abbeville. Mr. Johnson formerly lived in Louisiana, Panama City, Florida and Abbeville before moving to Woodstock in 2017. He was retired from the automobile industry. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Lee Johnson, and a sister, Betty McLendon.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Priscilla Bence Johnson; a daughter, Leslie Gulledge of Dothan; two step-daughters, Fara Urrea (Francisco), Woodstock, GA; and Christie Thompson (Philip), Panama City, FL; a brother-in-law, Bill Bence (Paige), Phenix City; six grandchildren, Adelyn Deal Chancey (Jordan), Kenyon Deal (Macey), Philip Jeffrey Thompson, Daniel Thompson and Lucas Urrea (Dari); a great-granddaughter, Ellie Rae Deal.
