In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Bay Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 1721 S. Bay Springs Road, Dothan, AL, 36305.

Mr. Snell was born February 19, 1929 in Houston County and lived his entire life on the same property. He graduated from Wicksburg High School and attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University). Max was a master Gardener and builder of many things. He successfully grew vegetables, fruit trees, crops, and anything else he wanted, just to provide for as many others as he could. He was known to frequent neighbors near and far just to visit and bring them the fruits or vegetables of the season. Max grew way more than gardens, he grew friendships that will always be remembered because of his kindness and generosity. He prided himself on helping others, and in doing so he built a foundation in his legacy of Giving, Love and Respect for others. A legacy that his children and grandchildren will forever be impacted by. In his spare time, he loved traveling, fishing, rebuilding old tractors, and supporting his church, where he was a faithful Deacon for 55 years. Max was always willing to serve and did so never expecting anything in return.

He was most widely known in the area for the business he started which has had a tremendous impact on the community and many farmers in the area. Max Snell Farm Equipment was founded in 1972, by Max and his late wife, Eleanor Price Snell. He introduced Vermeer round hay balers to the area and built a business in the community that has been flourishing ever since.

Max has impacted countless lives through his business and generosity and established a legacy of faithfulness and obedience in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife Naomi Snell; his daughter, Twila (Marty) Calhoun; his son, Marty (Kelley) Snell; his step-son, Jim (Selena) Smith; his grandchildren, Jacey (Josh) Cox, Kent (Brittany) Calhoun, Tucker Max Snell, and Kade Snell; great-grandchildren, Jacob Cox, Eleanor Cox, Grant Calhoun, and Libby Calhoun; step-grandchildren, Olivia Smith and Gabe Smith; a niece, Flora (J.R.)
