Maxine Johnson, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her residence. She was 78.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 11 am in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Johnson was born on October 8, 1939 in Gulf, North Carolina and lived there the early years of her life. She married the love of her life, Kenneth, in 1955 and stayed stateside while he traveled around the world during his military career. They raised three children during their 62 years of marriage. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid bingo player and loved RV traveling with her husband and their RV family. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Dothan Gem and Mineral Club and the Dothan Elks Club.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Kenneth Johnson; sons, Dwayne (Kum) Johnson and Terry (Nikki) Johnson; a daughter, Diane Johnson-Tetzlaff; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
