ARITON…Ms. Melane Rena Watson, a resident of Ariton, died late Friday evening, March 15, 2024, in Dale Medical Center. She was 54.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Melane was born March 29, 1969, and was a native of Ozark. She was a 1988 Graduate of Carroll High School and Alabama Aviation and Technical College (now Alabama Aviation College) in Ozark. Melane received her Airframe, Powerplant and Avionics Certificate and was employed at Ft. Rucker as a helicopter avionics mechanic. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Laureen Bludsworth, grandparents, John L. and Earleen Herring Bludsworth, and Norman B. Watson.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Ashley Etheredge (Savannah McCartha); her son, Gage Miller (Mikayla English), all of Ozark; father, Gene Watson, Headland; two brothers, Jeff Watson, Lakeview, Florida and Mike Watson, Ozark; uncles, Lavon Watson (Anna), Ozark and Larry Watson (Lydianne), Dothan; aunt, Opal Rogers Watson, Dothan; nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Jenna Newton (Jeremy), Maegan Watson, and Cori Watson.
