It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the passing of Melody Lynn Maki.

Born on January 24, 1984, in Marinette, Wisconsin to Paul and Michelle Tessaro, Melody has always been a good and faithful servant of the Lord. She was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church in Marinette on March 11, 1984. Throughout her childhood, Melody enjoyed singing and reading constantly, and was a big sister to David Tessaro and Kathryn (Tessaro) Moos. She lovingly referred to her siblings as the munchkin clan. She was always known for her kind, gentle, and caring nature, as well as her love for her family and the Lord.

Melody met Kyle Maki at Kirby High School in Memphis, Tennessee and they began their relationship in 1999. They attended the University of Tennessee at Martin together, where they supported each other in their studies and married on October 15, 2005. Melody was a “University Scholar“ at UT-Martin and Kyle joined ROTC where the start of a resilient Army wife was born. Melody supported Kyle throughout the entirety of his Army career and was incredibly devoted to being his number-one fan. They had the honor of parenting three beautiful girls together, Elizabeth, Hannah, and Aria. Melody was a dedicated stay-at-home mother and was very proud to have homeschooled the girls at GFH Academy. Her daughters not only inherited their mother’s intellect and beauty, but her love of family, her faith, and the Army life as well.

When Melody was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed reading, singing, serving as an officer’s wife, and learning to play the hammered dulcimer. She also loved being a part of the family’s church—wherever they were stationed—and growing in the faith with various Bible studies through sharing her strong faith in Christ with others. Melody was a bright light to those who know her.

Melody is survived by her husband, Kyle Maki; her daughters, Elizabeth Grace Maki, Hannah Faith Maki, and Aria Hope Maki; her parents Paul and Michelle Tessaro; her brother David (Shannon) Tessaro; her sister, Katie (Andrew) Moos; her in-laws, Tom and Lisamarie Maki; as well as six nieces and nephews and many other family members who love her deeply and will miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Enterprise Chapel with Rev. James Endrihs officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time.
