ASHFORD…Michael Clayton (Clay) McNeill, a resident of Ashford, died Monday afternoon, May 12, 2014, at his residence. He was 39.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 15, 2014, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Phil Collins and Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.


            Clay McNeill, who was also known as “Tadpole” was a native of the Enon Community, between Webb and Ashford.  He was reared in the Blackwood Community and also Ashford and was a graduate of Ashford High School. Clay was employed by C & K Trucking as the Shop Supervisor. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Foy and Mary Shelley, L.B. and Edith (Boots) McNeill, and his step-grandparents, James R. and Bernell Morris.


            Surviving relatives include a son, Jacob Clayton McNeill, a step-daughter, Kaylea Jo Knight, both of Ashford; his father, Michael C. (Frog) McNeill, Pansey, AL; his mother, Betty Jo Shelley Morris (Stepfather-James), Headland; a step-sister, Melony Krstulja (Matt), Marietta, GA; his fiancee’, April Elmore, Ashford; a niece, Mia Krstulja; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
