Michael Don Tucker

Michael Don Tucker, 62, a resident of Taylor passed away December 3, 2021.

Mike was born December 1, 1959, in Germany and he moved to the United States in 1962. He was a 1978 graduate of Houston Academy where he was an outstanding athlete and played on the football team. Mike was elected mayor of Taylor in 1984 and served for 16 years. He started the Taylor Police Department and was very instrumental in the growth and development of Taylor during his time as mayor. When Mike was elected in 1984, he was the youngest mayor in the State of Alabama. He was a member of the Taylor Masonic Lodge.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Sara Tucker; grandson Andrew Sanchez; and his brother, Archie. Tucker.

Survivors include his daughter, Kendall (Jared) Dean; his son, Brandon (Andrea) York; four grandchildren, Case Dean, Branlee Crawford, Joshua York and Cameron York; nephew, Charles Tucker; and a special friend and caregiver, Ginger Whiddon.
