Michael J. D. Loughnan passed away 16 October 2015 at his home in Enterprise, Alabama surrounded by his loving family. He was 56.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Daleville with a US Army Chaplain officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Daleville from 2:00 PM until service time on Thursday.
Michael served 17 years in the U.S. Army where he specialized in the mechanics of Blackhawk Helicopters. He had the opportunity of sharing his skills as a TI Instructor. He also served as Crew Chief for the Supreme Allied Commander of Europe. Upon retiring, he became heavily involved in DAV, and made it his mission to help other soldiers transition into the civilian world.
Michael was the most loving father, provider and protector (even after 34 years old). He loved Harley-Davidson’s. He was a real “music man”, he loved singing karaoke, loved Jimmy Buffett and he loved to cook and entertain.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Frances (Corriveau) Loughnan and a brother, Delray Andrews.
Survivors include his daughter, Mandy Dawn Wilcox (Joshua Kane Jewell), Ethelsville, AL; granddaughter, Madelyn Reese Wilcox; grandson, Michael Rowan Wilcox; 3 sisters, Linda Hartley (Larry), Avon Park, FL, Darlene LaFleur, Wicksburg, AL, Regina Weaver, Daleville, AL; brother, Wade Monti, Caribou, ME; nieces and nephews, Tena Unterkofler, Jackie Lou, David Luckett, Jamee LaFleur, Jason, Lance and B. J. Belanger, Kristel Drew, Kally Monti, Michelle and Julie Hartley, Delray Jr., Mark, Maureen, Lisa, and Stacey Andrews; 3 step-nieces, Sue Ann Antonello, Sonja Staffod and Sasha Weaver; 2 step-nephews, Jack Magnus and Robert T. Weaver III; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
