MICHAEL JACK “BIG GUY” WEATHINGTON
HEADLAND… Michael Jack “Big Guy” Weathington, a resident of Headland, Alabama passed away Sunday morning, September 1, 2024, at a Dothan hospital. He was 64.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. A eulogy will be given by Chris Jones. Burial will follow at Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Michael Weathington was born in Fort Dix, New Jersey to the late Jack and Louise Brannon Weathington. He was a 1978 graduate of Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida. He was employed with Alabama Power for forty-plus years before his retirement. He was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Lisa Belcher Weathington; his daughter, Lyndee Lane Weathington (Jay Nelson); his sons, Michael Chase Weathington and Sterling Vazquez (Anamaria Fernandez); his sister, Vicky Reynolds (Philip); his sisters-in-law, Nancy Coates (Marc Lucas) and Marlene Wells (Roger); his three grandchildren, Bentley Michael Weathington, Gabriel Vazquez and Brysen Nelson; and his several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Philip Reynolds, Brian Reynolds, Marc Lucas, Roger Wells, Jay Nelson, Nevin Yoder, Larry Petty, and Tim Slater. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers from Alabama Power.
