CHALKHEAD COMMUNITY… Mr. Michael Knight, a resident of the Chalkhead Community, near Ozark, died Sunday afternoon, August 11, 2019 in the emergency room of Dale Medical Center. He was 31.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Calvary Assembly of God Church near Clio with Reverend Randy Adams officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. Thursday in the church sanctuary. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Knight was a native of Lawton, Oklahoma and formerly lived in Nebraska, South Carolina, and Illinois before moving to Clio in 1996. He was currently employed with Precision Steel, Inc. in Abbeville as a steel fabricator. Mr. Knight was an active member of the Clio Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church and was a loving husband, father, and son who loved his family and God. Mr. Knight was a fearless hard worker who enjoyed life.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Stephanie Knight; two daughters, Makayla Knight and Emilee Smith; two sons, Michael Zachary Knight, Jr. and Taylor Smith, all of Ozark; his mother, Dawn Grimes (Keith), Clio; grandparents, Jackie Lindsey (Allen), Blue Springs and Barbara Nance, Ozark; mother-in-law, Patricia Sasser, Ozark; four sisters, Danielle Shirley, Adrienne Grimes, Kaitlyn Lomaneck (Corey), all of Ozark and Brittany Green (Joseph), Skipperville; sister-in-law, Amber Brown (Josh), Ozark; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Tyler Shirley, Joseph “Smiley” Green, Corey Lomaneck, Chris Metcalf, Josh Brown, and Harvey Sasser.
