MICHAEL LEE GOLDEN
HEADLAND…Michael Lee (Micky) Golden, a resident of Headland, died early Sunday evening, October 28, 2012, at his residence. He was 61.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 31, 2012, in the Worship Center of the First Baptist Church of Headland with Reverend Dr. Cecil Sanders, Jr. and Reverend Norman C. Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Headland “Bridge to Tomorrow” Building Fund, 301 East Church Street, Headland, AL 36345.
Micky Golden was a native of Newville and moved with his family to Headland as a child. He was a 1969 graduate of Headland High School and formerly served in the Air National Guard. Micky was a member of the First Baptist Church of Headland. He was a retired employee of GTE. Micky was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lee (Booster) Golden.
Surviving relatives include his daughter, Michelle Patton and fiancé, Ben Stanfield, Dothan; his mother, Martha Ann Mixon Golden, Headland; a brother, Rod Allums and wife, Mary, Blakely, GA; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Rod Allums, Wayne Skeen, John White, Gary Sumlar, Mark Davis and Chris Allums.
