Michael Len Carpenter, a resident of Headland, Alabama, died suddenly and peacefully in the arms of a special friend that loved him in Arvin, California. Michael worked most of his life as a mechanic in Dothan, and later he found his love for Trucking. As a young boy Michael was introduced to horses and team roping. It was a hobby he was passionate for and was able to pass along to his children. Michael was devoted family man. He was always full of life and his smile lit up any room he entered.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis June Carpenter, and his maternal grandmother, Mary Mock.
To remember and honor his legacy he leaves behind: his only biological son, Kristopher Kayne Carpenter of Tallahassee, Fl; his only biological daughter and with whom he shared a special bond, Krystal Nichole Carpenter of Kinsey, AL; his adopted sons whom he graciously loved and raised as his own, William Carpenter and Kevin Carpenter of Headland, AL; his only two grandsons of whom he was truly proud of, Colton "Blake" Cook and Joseph "Blayne" Nowell (Krystal); the woman with whom he raised his family with and faithfully loved him for over thirty years, Debbie Carpenter of Headland, AL; his father Curtis (Phyllis) Carpenter of Headland, AL; his brother Lee (Dina) Carpenter of Haleburg, AL; his brother Leon (Nicole) Carpenter of Blakely, GA; a special aunt, Joyce Williams of Headland, AL; an aunt, Dena (Jesse) Spurlin of Apopka, FL; several beloved nieces and nephews; a special friend, Carla Hatcher of Webb, AL; and a host of friends that loved him.
The family has decided to cremate Michael in California. There will be a memorial service at New Beginnings Church in Ashford when his remains arrive in Alabama. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to New Begginings Church in Ashford.
