Michael (Mike) S. Anderson of New Brockton, Alabama, passed away October 18, 2024. He was 78 years old.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Bethany Baptist Church, 1805 County Road 533 New Brockton, Alabama, with Reverend Corbin Griffin, Reverend Greg Cotter, and Reverend Lane Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm and continuing until service time.

Mike was born on October 5, 1946, in Coffee Springs, Alabama, to the late JZ and Mary Anderson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Preston.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sue Anderson; daughters, Vicki Harper (Jeff) of Ozark and Paula McCollough (Joey) of Enterprise; brother, Ricky Anderson (Angela) of South Carolina; sister, Jan Preston of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Corey Porter (Ajay Tambralli), Lindsay Melvin (Justin), Brandon McCollough (Chelsey), Blake McCollough, Kaitlyn Groves (Tyler), and Maddie Harper; great-grandchildren, Bo and Bryce McCollough, Lyla and Mackenzie Melvin, Porter Tambralli, and Lucy and Liza Groves; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike will always be remembered as a gentle, kind person who loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An avid fisherman, he loved being on the water. Mike was an expert wood worker as he could build just about anything. He will be missed deeply by his family.
