ABBEVILLE…Michael Quinn “Mike” Taylor, a resident of Abbeville, died Saturday night, November 5, 2016, at his residence. He was 62.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 9, 2016, in the Abbeville United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Greene and Reverend Scotty Scott officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church family life center. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mike’s memory, to the Abbeville United Methodist Church “Missions Fund”, P. O. Box 100 Abbeville, AL. 36310.
Mike Taylor was a native of Chipley, Florida, son of the late Gordon Paul Taylor, Sr. and Ada Lillian Overton Taylor. He was a 1972 graduate of Dothan High School where he was a member of the football team. He later received a B.S. Degree in Industrial Management from Auburn University. Mike was formerly employed for many years as the manager of the Johnny Ingram Company in Dothan. In earlier years, he was self-employed as the co-owner of Johnson-Taylor Construction Company of Ashford. Mike was a member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church. He was a passionate sportsman and truly appreciated what the outdoors offered in the form of recreation, fellowship, and friendship. Although Mike was an Auburn alum, he was a proud fan of the Crimson Tide. Mike was a steward of his faith, a cornerstone of his family, and a friend to all.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Pam Ingram Taylor; two daughters, Abby Taylor Flynn (Brian), Abbeville; and Erin Taylor Scott (Scotty), Dothan; three grandchildren, Taylor Schulman, Emma Schulman, Addison Flynn and a grandson on the way, Hunter Flynn; two sisters, Susan Richards (Jerry), Dothan; and Sharon Bryant, Daleville; two brothers, Gordon Paul Taylor, Jr. (Diane), Hamilton, GA; and Kenneth Taylor (Jennifer), Ellijay, GA; mother-in-law, Betty Griggs Ingram, sister-in-law, Amy Faison (John), and a brother-in-law, Tim Ingram (Sandra); special friend, Ken Shannon; several nieces and nephews.
