OZARK…. Michael William Scarlett (Staff Sergeant, United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in Holmes Regional Hospital, Melbourne, Florida while visiting his daughter. He was 70.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Sunday, March 1, 2020 in the V.F.W. Post 6020, Daleville, AL with John L. Cawley, Funeral Celebrant officiating. The family will receive friends following the services. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mike was born on March 18, 1949 in Camden, New Jersey and spent the early part of his life there. Following graduation from Palmyra High School, he joined the United States Air Force followed by the United States Army. Mike was also a Vietnam Veteran. He moved to Ozark Alabama in 1977 with his wife and there they started their family. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Kathryn Love Scarlett and his wife MaryAnn Scarlett.
Survivors include his two children, Michael Scarlett, Jr. and Kathleen Torres (Brian); grandchildren, Kayla Torres, Dylan Torres, Rileigh Scarlett, and Callen Scarlett; brother, Ed Scarlett; two sisters, Patti Miller and Eileen Horner; half-sister Ellen Scarlett; numerous nieces and nephews.
