The family will receive friends to celebrate Michelle’s life from 12pm-1pm in the Sunset Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

Lillian Michelle Baker, affectionately known as Michelle by her loved ones, passed away on June 5, 2024 surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering love and selflessness. Born on July 8, 1956, Michelle's life was a testament to her kind spirit and her dedication to her family and community.

Michelle is survived by her devoted husband, Timothy Baker, with whom she shared a life full of love and mutual respect. Her legacy continues through her daughters, Hannah Johnson (Vinson) and Karmon Shellabarger, who will forever cherish the lessons and love their mother imparted. Michelle's joy was multiplied by her grandchildren, Jayden, Shelby, and Kendalyn Ledbetter, and her great-grandchildren, Anna Lynn and Brynleigh Grace Ledbetter. She is also survived by her brother, Mitchell Snellgrove, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Her beloved red nose pit bulldog, Chance, will miss her comforting presence.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Don Snellgrove, her grandparents, Gladys and Lewie Frank Snellgrove, and her son-in-law, Brett Shellabarger. Their memories remained a cherished part of her life, and she often spoke of them with love and fondness.

A proud 1974 graduate of Carroll High School in Ozark, Michelle's work ethic and dedication were evident throughout her life. She retired from a fulfilling career at a Mass Merchandiser, where she was known for her reliability and kindness. Michelle also provided house cleaning services, taking pride in bringing joy and order to the homes of others. Her caring nature extended to her grandparents, whom she took care of with great devotion, embodying the essence of family values.

Michelle's interests were as vibrant and diverse as her personality. She was a passionate fan of SEC football, softball, and basketball, with a special place in her heart for Alabama teams. Born and raised in Dale County, she was a true Southern spirit, with a love for old school rock and roll that matched her lively and spirited demeanor. Michelle's happiest moments were often found in the simplest of pleasures: going to the beach, enjoying Waterworld, and taking care of everyone around her. Her love for dogs was unparalleled, and she shared an unspoken bond with her furry companions.

Those who knew Michelle would describe her as loving, selfless, and kind. She had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel special and cared for. Michelle's warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and her presence was a comforting force in the lives of many.

Michelle's life was a beautiful melody of joy, compassion, and unwavering support. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones, and her memory will be cherished forever. As we say goodbye to Lillian Michelle Baker, we celebrate the extraordinary life she led and the countless ways she touched the hearts of those around her. Her story does not end with her passing but lives on through the love she gave and the lives she influenced. Michelle's journey was one of purpose, love, and kindness—a true beacon of light in the lives of her family and friends.
