Mickey Hunter Andrews, 77, passed away Monday, February 21, 2023 peacefully in his sleep.
Mickey was born and raised in Pinckard, AL. He attended Dale County High School. He served in the US Navy as an aircraft mechanic. Mickey retired from the U.S. Dept of Defense in Fort Rucker, AL with over 20 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifleman’s Association (NRA) and a staunch advocate for the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Mickey was a generous donor to the Wounded Warrior Foundation. You could always find Mickey looking for ways to help his neighbors in the community. He was a Mason and a member of Newton Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Pinckard Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Foy Andrews; brother-in-law, Lamar Watson and brother-in-law, Harold Goolsby.
He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Mary Smart Andrews; one sister, Patsy Andrews Goolsby; two brothers: Buddy Andrews (Shirley) and Tommy Andrews (Barbara); sister-in-law, Martha Smart Pate (Blann); brother-in-law, John H. Watson (Gail) and sister-in-law Betty Watson. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and his beloved dog Annie.
