NEWVILLE. . .Mickey Joe Burdeshaw, a resident of the Capps Community, near Newville, died Monday morning, December 18, 2017, at his home. He was 65.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan, with Chaplain Jody Haddan officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 A.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.
Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Care Hospice, 1512 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.
Mickey Burdeshaw was a native of Henry County, son of the late James Robert Burdeshaw and Nadine Rash Burdeshaw. He lived most of his lifetime in the Headland area before moving to Capps. Mickey was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was engaged in farming all his adult lifetime. Mickey was preceded in death by two brothers, Robin Burdeshaw and Rodney Burdeshaw and a sister, Julie Burdeshaw Forehand.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Bonnie Applin Burdeshaw; two sons, Joe Burdeshaw (Linda), Headland; and Jason Burdeshaw (Amanda), Dothan; a brother, Donnie Burdeshaw (Peggy), Birmingham; seven grandchildren, Cole Burdeshaw, Clay Burdeshaw, Christian Burdeshaw, Jessica Curry, Kelsey Curry, Andrew Paul (Amanda) and Eric Paul (Sidney); three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Paul, Preslee Paul and Levi Paul; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law from the Applin family, Betty Peters, Reba Hatcher, Ray and Kate Applin. Serving as active pallbearers are Mike Ekberg, Nick McCord, Cliff McCord, Eddie McCord, Michael Stewart and Paul Johnson. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Michael Deshazo and Charles Armstrong.
