Mildred Brooks

Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Daughtry Brooks, age 84, of Dothan, passed away peacefully Friday, August 20, 2021, and went to be with her Lord.  Memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 11 a.m., in the Family First Funeral Care Chapel.  The family requests that masks be worn.

Mildred was born September 24, 1936 in Walton County, Florida to the late Connie and Laura Daughtry. 

She was a homemaker while her children were young and later worked for Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base for many years. She was a life-long caregiver for her special needs son, Timothy.   Her favorite hobby was gardening and loved to be outside.  

In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Lamar Brooks, and her sisters Ethel Ellis and Vera Burnham.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Jimmy) Franklin, and son Mark Brooks; grandchildren Jessica (Tanner) Barefield, Zane (Vivian) Franklin, and Mikayla (Long) Pham; five great grandchildren; her sister, Bonita (Jack) Williams, and many nieces and nephews. 

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to very special caregivers Amy Pollard, Kerry Harrell and several others.
