Mildred Lorine Carter, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away at her residence on Monday, April 5, 2021. She was 83.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 11 am in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for 1 hour prior to the service.
Mildred was born on March 19, 1938 in Kentucky to the late Arthur and Inez Dilbeck. She was a seamstress for over 25 years. Mildred was a godly woman who was destined to become a caregiver and worked in home healthcare from 1996-2012. Mildred was a very giving person who would do without to make sure her family had whatever they needed or wanted. She loved spending time with her family, shopping at JC Penney and Belk and cleaning.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon Carter; her son, Michael Carter; and her great-grandson, Hudson Carter.
Survivors include her sons, Gary (Linda) Carter and Tommy (Patsy) Carter; her grandchildren, Mistel Carter, Tommy (Amanda) Carter, Vanessa (Justin) Carter Pryor, Mark Carter and Wayne (Samantha) Carter; 11 great-grandchildren; her brothers, John (Peggy) Dilbeck and Jesse (Linda) Dilbeck; her sisters, DeeDee Dilbeck-Kopp and Stella Yeaw; and several nieces and nephews.
