MILDRED  WHITE  COUCH

 

COLUMBIA. . .Mildred White Couch, a resident of Hunter Road, Columbia, died Saturday afternoon, March 17, 2012, at her home. She was 79.

            Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Reverend Don Tew and Reverend Freddie McCain officiating and a eulogy to be given by Jerry Lunseth. Graveside services will follow in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Dan Nase officiating.  Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday in the sanctuary of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3894 Ebenezer Road, Columbia, AL. 36319 or to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 190, Columbia, AL. 36319.

            Mrs. Couch was born and reared in Houston County, near Columbia, daughter of the late Oscar Lewis White and Rosie Reba Relaford White. She was a graduate of the Houston County High School in Columbia and attended Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville. Mrs. Couch formerly lived in Mobile, Brooksville and Bascom, Florida before returning to Columbia in 1992. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Dothan and attended Ebenezer Baptist Church.  Mrs. Couch was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Hubert Floyd Couch, three sisters, Merle Leroy, Mary Lewis Evans and Myrtlene Roney and two brothers, Reverend Emmett White and Russell White.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Vicki Cothran and husband, Joe; a son, Danny Couch and wife, Debbie, all of Columbia; four grandchildren, Brandon Simmons, Sean Cothran, Dustin Couch and Austin Couch; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Couch, Columbus, GA. and Margie White, Dothan; a brother-in-law, Wilburn Roney, Ashford; several nieces and nephews.
