Minita Smith









Minita Smith, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at a local hospital. She was 72.


Minita was born October 16, 1948 in Houston County, Alabama. She found God at an early age. She continued to be a soldier for the Lord all lifelong. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy and Juanita Blount, her loving husband, Emmet Smith; one brother, Johnny Blount; her four sisters, Clara Blount, MayRee Smith, Willow Jean Blount and Joann Neal; a special niece, Annie Sue Glanton; and a special nephew, John Blount.


Survivors include one brother, James T. (Dottie) Blount; two sisters, Norma Hadley and Winnola Beacham; five children, BerSandra (Mike) Andres, Keith (Audris) Cooper, Monte (JuaneKee) Cooper, Emily Smith and Minita (GokTurk) Smith; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three special nieces, Retha Britt, Susie Thomas and Clarissa Neal; a special friend, Sarah Debose; a bonus daughter, Elizabeth Pride; a special boss and friend, Debbie Randall; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
