Minnie Florence Baker, 86, of Enterprise, AL passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 to be with the Lord.  Her family and caregivers were by her side in the comfort of her earthly residence when she drifted off peacefully to be with our Saviour in her eternal Heavenly home.


           Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Johnny Bryant officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until service time.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations in memory of Minnie Florence Baker to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Alabama Chapter, Shades Creek Plaza Building, 813 Shades Creek Parkway, Suite 100B, Birmingham, AL 35209.


           Minnie Florence was one of nine children born to John and Ollie Thames of Bluff Springs, AL.  She is best remembered as a former secretary at Rucker Boulevard Elementary School and a faithful, longtime member of the Christ Community Church.


          She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joe David Baker.


          Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe and Cherie Baker; grandson, Brandon Lee Baker of Enterprise; granddaughter, Nichole Lindsey and her husband, Jonathan Culp of Red Lion, PA; two beloved great-grandchildren, Peyton and Avery Culp;  sister, Edna Smart, Elba, AL; two brothers, J. D. Thames, Mobile, AL; Horace Thames, Winter Garden, FL; a host of friends.
